broccoli salad

This salad is addicting. Just writing about it now is making me want some badly. I brought this to my parent’s house for Christmas dinner and it was a huge hit. It’s a great sweet and salty combo, which is my favourite. You must try this salad – you won’t regret it! Yummy, yummy, yummy. Here’s how you make it:

Ingredients:

4 heads fresh broccoli
1/2 red onion
1/2 pound bacon
1 cup craisins
1 cup cashews
1 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons white wine vinegar

Directions:

1.Place bacon in a deep skillet and cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Cool and crumble.
2.Cut the broccoli into bite-size pieces and cut the onion into thin bite-size slices. Combine with the bacon, craisins, cashews and mix well.
3.To prepare the dressing, mix the mayonnaise, sugar and vinegar together until smooth. Stir into the salad, let chill and serve.

We have a broccoli/cauliflower salad recipe we found on allrecipes.com that we really like, but this looks tasty too. Gotta try it.
By the way, I am your newest follower.

Hi Amanda! I really don’t know how many servings. People don’t tend to eat huge portions of broccoli salad because it’s quite filling (not like a lettuce salad). I usually bring it to large family functions, but there is never any left. It’s that good.

I just made this for a July 4th bbq- and seriously, I can already tell that it’ll be amazing. (If I don’t eat it straight outta the bowl until we see our friends.) Thank you!!
