I haven’t taken very many photos of the kids lately. It’s this time of year. By the time I get home from work, it’s practically already getting dark out. I love shooting in natural night, so that pretty much leaves me the weekend. Then with my luck, the days on the weekend are usually overcast and I don’t end up taking many pics. It’s not like my kids are begging me to take their pictures either. I think they’re a little tired of being my models. Here’s a few recent pics as examples:
First Kirsten wanted to search for toe jam. What fun!

Then she got bored of toe jam and wanted to have a “nap” with her barbies.

Then I ask Kirsten if I can take a couple pictures of her and this is what I get – either complete boredom or laughing because she won’t look at the camera:

When I ask Kirsten to please look at my camera, this is the face I get:

Nevermind, off to photograph the other kid. Wait, where’s my other kid? Oh, he’s reading the paper.

And he finally let me take one picture of him and I messed it up. Too many shadows. Oh well, I still love it.

I think my kids would like me to find some new models!
They are so adorable! I must admit I am IN LOVE with your site! You inspire me to do more with my two little ones, thank you, thank you!
I am having a sock monkey theme for my son’s 2nd birthday and I am totally going to borrow your idea of your monkey cupcakes you did for Camden’s birthday! I promise to link it back to you!
Thanks so much again, for inspiring, and for reminding me of all the simple things in life with my littles.

I love all of these pictures!
I love the light in all your photos! And your children’s eyes are simply breathtaking. I’m with the first commenter …. you inspire me to be a better mom. So, from me AND my kids, thank you!
great photos!!
I love the photos (especially the toe jam ones!) I think sometimes the most imperfect photos are the most perfect. Those are the ones that really capture the moment and mood, and personalities of the subjects. This set is wonderful.
I love the outtakes. That’s what it’s like when I shoot my kids too- the antics. Don’t they understand if they’d just look at the camera and smile, we’d be done a lot faster?
PS. Claire loves looking for fuzzies in her toes too!
