3 monster handprints for my 3-year old little guy. Camden had an awesome
monster birthday party for his 3rd birthday a couple weeks ago and we made some super cute handprint monsters. I put the handprints on a nice piece of canvas and have this on display on his bookshelf in his bedroom. It’s adorable. We made different looking monsters by only painting some fingers and also stamping his hand upside down. There are really so many cute ways you could make this. This craft was beyond simple (aren’t all my crafts?!?!). Here’s how we made it:
What you’ll need:
a piece of canvas
3 different colours of paint
googly eyes
glue
black sharpie
paint for decoration
Directions:
1. paint your child’s hand and stamp it on the canvas. I think it’s easier to do the middle one first, and then it will at least be centered. Mine were supposed to be in a straight line, but as you can see, they aren’t!
2. allow the paint to dry
3. decorate your little monsters using googly eyes, sharpies and paint. Make them as cute or as scary as you want!
Adorable!
Seriously…you’re a Handprint genius. I’m going to save this for next time we read a monster book.
My little monster will love this!!! He’ll be three in March, I’m totally stealing this idea
So cute! I’m jealous of your excellent craftiness. Oh – and happy (late) birthday to your son! ^^
These are so cute and fun, love the idea for your little boy.
Thank-you ladies! It looks great in his room.
I like them not in a straight line, Jill. It completely states: little boy. Love this one so much. Mady wants to do this real bad. Probably because she thinks she is a little boy!
Ha! Thanks Aimee.
This is SO cute! I can’t wait to try this out with my boys.
Awesome SmallTownLife. Have fun!
Just stopping by to let you know that I’ve featured another great craft on Fun Family Crafts! You can see it here:

Thanks Tami!
Does it matter what kind of paint? I’m *not* crafty, so have no idea. :/
When doing handprint crafts with kids, I like to use paint that is safe and non-toxic. I always use crayola paints for kids. There are different brands out there, but make sure it’s safe for kids. I hope that helps!
Yes, that helps. Thanks
This is adorable. We’ve included a link to it on our page of BEST HALLOWEEN KIDS BOOKS. It’d be a fun activity to do along with the book My Monster Mama Loves Me So.
